This CH-46A/D dual rotor chopper is straight from the jungles of Vietnam and is delivered in dual form so either the short or long tail (A or D) model can be built. The CH46 in Vietnam proved to be the most versatile U.S. Marine helicopter of the Vietnam War. First built in 1964, it was designed to meet the medium lift combat assault requirements of the US Marine Corp, during amphibious invasion and to move equipment, weapons and supplies. Upgraded throughout its life the D model featured a longer tail pylon. Teamed once again with direction and requirements requested by MRC, Academy has skillfully duplicated this big 1/48 scale helicopter with the usual pinpoint precision of detail known the world over. The cockpit and full cabin interior are a modeler’s dream: extraordinary detail throughout. The doors and the rear ramp can be assembled open or closed and the large set of authentic decals enable the historic modeler to finish the model in a choice of four tail numbers.
