Alco, from October 1950 to June 1956, built FA-2/FB-2 locomotives. They were built to replace the FA-1 and add a little more horsepower. Though they were not as popular as the FA-1, Alco still sold about 550 FA-2 and FB-2 units to 16 different railroads in the United States.
