Any fan of exotic automobiles will have a tough time passing these up. Our
new line of officially licensed almost-ready-to-run Ferraris from Carisma are
fantastic cars to get veteran gearheads all in a lather and entry-level racers
up and running. In just six easy steps, you'll be able to assemble these sweet
babies from top to bottom in less than two hours, even if you're a complete
neophyte to the RC scene.
Each 1/14 Ferrari ARR comes with everything you need to start roaring down the
track almost immediately, including motor, pistol-grip radio system, electronic
speed control and a gorgeous prepainted body. Even a 7.2V battery charger and
pack, eight AA batteries for the transmitter and the box wrench to screw on
the tires are included. All you need to provide are a Phillips screwdriver and
narrow-nose pliers.
The most appealing characteristic, however, is the superb detail of the bodies.
Each comes painted in a rich Ferrari red with rearview mirrors and detailed
headlight, grille and trim decals. This exceptional body detail, coupled with
their authentic BBS wheels and treaded tires, makes Carisma Ferraris great
display models too. And since the chassis used for the 360, F40 and Enzo
varieties features adjustable wheel width and wheelbase, it's possible for an
owner of one of these cars to use either of the other two bodies.
The easy-to-read instructions lay out the complete assembly in just six
simple steps. The servo unit and upper deck come already put together, and the
380 motor and gearbox are premolded to make assembly a breeze. You won’t have to
do much more than attaching the T-bar to the chassis and the rear damper to the
rear mounting, screwing the servo unit to the main chassis, slipping on the
steering rods, installing the bumpers and popping on the wheels, complete with
foam inserts.
And, boy, do they run like a dream. Steering and throttle trim allow you to
adjust control according to your own style. On a carpet or pavement (we tested
it on the asphalt parking lot out back), these Ferraris can really pick up some
speed. And with the digital proportional steering, we were able to do all sorts
of donuts, snap turns and tight circles.
Carisma supports all of their cars with a full complement of replacement
parts, as well as optional bodies with different colors. If you’re into fast
Italians, Carisma’s 1/14-scale Ferrari ARR is the way to go.
