Here’s a model of one of the most famous bombers of the Second World War. There were more B-24s built than any other American bomber. It was used on all the war fronts and was remarkably durable. This model depicts the first major production Liberator and carries the cartoon character, the Goon, from a popular comic strip of the day. The clear greenhouse canopy covers a detailed cockpit with a decal instrument panel. All four engines are well depicted and the propellers rotate. Inside the gun turrets you can see the deadly .50 cal. machine guns and the sliding-type bomb bay can be shown open or closed. Inside is a load of high explosive bombs. The lower ball turret can be retracted or extended.
