North American's AT-6 Texan advanced trainer is one of the most famous military training aircraft of all time with more than 17,000 examples of all variants being produced. The Texan's top speed was 207 miles-per-hour, the service ceiling was 24,100 feet, and the maximum range was 665 miles.
