Released in 2011, the Estes Pro Series II Motors are a departure from older forms of motors made by Estes. The Pro Series II motors are composite motors using ammonium perchlorate composite propellant instead of black powder like other Estes motors. The fuel in the Pro Series II motors not only differs chemically from other Estes motors, it also has a higher overall performance. In composite motors, the ammonium perchlorate is cast into shape as opposed to the powder pressing used in black powder motors. This results in greater consistency in performance and manufacturing regularity.
