The Dingo 1 was procured to provide better protection for soldiers during overseas missions in places such as Kosovo and Afghanistan. This vehicle with great cross-country mobility is based on the chassis of the Daimler-Chrysler Unimog and offers protection against infantry fire with armor-piercing projectiles and artillery splinters. A V-shaped deflector on the underbody deflects the explosion pressure of a mine round the bodywork and even offers the crew inside protection against anti-tank mines.
