The MiG 21F-13 is considered to be the most successful and famous combat aircraft of the jet age. No other military jet was built in such great numbers or saw action in as many wars as the Mikojan-Gurewitsch MiG 21. With the start of series production of the MiG 21F-13 (NATO-Code Fishbed C) at the beginning of 1960, large numbers of the new Soviet Mach 2 fighter were built for the first time. The DDR (German Democratic Republic) was one of the first countries outside the USSR to receive the new fighter with the first 76 aircraft arriving in the summer of 1962. In 1963 Finland became the first non-Warsaw Pact country to buy the MiG 21. Model details: Detailed cockpit with well defined sub-panels; authentic instrument panel; detailed ejection seat; structured wheel-wells; detailed undercarriage; detailed engine tailpipe; airbrake panels; 30mm gun on fuselage; external fuselage tank; two UB-16 rocket launchers; two AGITAP bombs; and super decals in 3 versions: Soviet Airforce; NVA (armed forces of the DDR); and the Finish Airforce.
