The long awaited Tamiya TXT-1 is NOW HERE! Read the eHobbies Tamiya TXT-1 FAQs Similar to the full-scale monster trucks, the TXT-1 has a ladder type frame made of high quality machined aluminum. The gearbox acts as a stress member and ties the chassis together for an extremely rigid working suspension. To maintain both performance and realistic appearance, the Juggernaut 2 drive train is incorporated. All new output shafts and modified propeller joints with dual set screws transfer power to the heavy-duty solid axles. The gearbox has additional bracing that also acts as a heat sink. The suspension featuring a four-link solid axle is just like the type found on full-scale monster trucks. The suspension links are made of high quality aluminum tubing with plastic ball cup ends for fully articulated movement and to reduce chassis roll, front and rear stabilizer bars are standard. Dampening is provided by four high volume oil filled coil over shocks with a unique cantilever push rod design. This feature allows the axles to clear the most extreme angles and provides long travel. A dual tie-rod linkage system controls steering and Tamiya's high torque servo saver is included for precise control and durability. Four wheel steering is an option by adding a second rear steering servo, y harness and the necessary linkage. In addition to the high quality aluminum parts, strong nylon reinforced, impact absorbing components are used for the high stress areas such as the bumpers and even the wheel hubs. Running gear includes two of Tamiya’s faithful Mabuchi RS-540 high torque motors and a 3-step mechanical speed controller powered by a 6 cell battery pack (not included). A pre-painted and pre-cut extra cab truck body is included with a brilliant blue, yellow and black color scheme. Key features include:
Technical specifications are:
To operate the TXT-1 you will need a suitable 2 channel radio system with 2 servos, a 1400 or higher 7.2volt battery pack, charger, CA tire glue and AA batteries to operate the radio. If an electronic speed control is used, a dual motor heavy-duty model such as Novak’s Super Rooster (eHobbies item #1000-0565) is ideal. This will allow the modeler to use one of the hot stock motors available such as the Trinity P2K (eHobbies item #3002-6140) or go as low as 16 turn high performance modified motors. >You will need to add the items below in order to operate the Tamiya TXT-1. |
