Unique among the world's high performance helicopters is the turbo-powered H-43B Huskie, the first helicopter designed specifically to perform the local base-crash rescue mission of the USAF's Air Rescue Service. The Huskie's twin intermeshing rotors counter-rotate, eliminating the need for a tail rotor. All power is used directly in the main rotors, which gives the Huskie greater lift per horsepower than any other helicopter. A stable aircraft which virtually no operational limitiations, the Huskie has proven very versatile. The gas turbine engine requires no warmup, making the aircraft ideal for rescue work. Paint colors needed: Flat Desert Tan (#1167), Light Gray (#2038), Dark Drab (#2026), Dark Green (#2027), Silver (#1146), Flat Black (#1149), Flat Red (#1150), Flat Gray (#1163), Flat White (#1168), Flat Yellow (#1169), Rubber (#1183), and Steel (#1180).
